Candle Care & Safety Tips
Learn how to get the most out of your Balsam Lake Candles while ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience. Follow these tips to enhance the longevity and fragrance of your candles.

MAXIMIZE BURN TIME
Our 8 oz candles offer an average burn time of 40 hours, while our 10 oz candles last for about 60 hours. To ensure you get the most out of your Balsam Lake Candle, follow these guidelines:
- Trim the wick to about 1/4" before each use to maximize burn time.
- Allow the candle to burn long enough to create a full melt pool (the liquid wax across the top) on the first burn. This prevents tunneling, ensuring an even burn.
- Do not let the candle burn more than 1/8" from the container bottom.

Safe Burning Practices
Safety is paramount when enjoying your Balsam Lake Candles. Please adhere to the following precautions:
- Place your candle away from drafts, fans, or vents to prevent uneven burning and potential hazards.
- Always place candles on a stable, heat-resistant surface to avoid accidents.
- Never leave candles unattended to ensure safety.

Proper Candle Storage
To maintain the freshness and fragrance of your Balsam Lake Candles, store them correctly:
- Store candles in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
- Replace lids when the candle is not in use to keep the scent fresh and prevent dust accumulation.

Unique Wood Wicks
Many of our nature-scented Balsam Lake Candles feature wood wicks, providing a unique crackling fire sound. To care for these wicks:
- Before relighting a candle with a wooden wick, remove any excess carbon buildup to ensure a clean and even burn.
